Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy for NutrientRadar
Effective date: July 10, 2026
NutrientRadar (“the App”) is a supplement and nutrient tracking application for iOS. This policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and — most importantly — what is not collected or sent anywhere. We wrote this in plain language because the App’s privacy story is genuinely simple: almost everything happens entirely on your device.
The short version
NutrientRadar does not have a server, does not require an account, does not use analytics or advertising trackers, and does not sell or share your personal data with anyone. All the supplements, nutrients, and logs you enter are stored locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData framework. We never see them.
Information stored on your device
The App stores the following data locally on your device only:
- Supplements you add, including names, brands, serving sizes, nutrient amounts, and optional cost-per-serving information
- Daily intake logs — which supplements you took and when
- Personal Protocol targets and Daily Stack configurations (Premium features)
- App preferences, such as your chosen cost-tracking unit and reminder notification time
This data is never transmitted to us or to any third party. It lives in the App’s local database on your iPhone. If you delete the App, this data is deleted along with it. If you use iCloud device backup, this data may be included in your personal iCloud backup the same way any other app’s local data would be — that backup is controlled by your Apple ID and Apple’s own privacy practices, not by us.
Camera and photo library
The App requests camera access so you can scan supplement labels, and photo library access so you can select an existing photo to scan instead. Label images are processed entirely on your device using Apple’s on-device Vision framework to read nutrient text. Images are never uploaded or stored outside the App, and are discarded once the nutrient data has been extracted.
Barcode lookup (Open Food Facts)
If you use the barcode scanner to look up a product, the barcode number is sent to the Open Food Facts API, a free and open database, in order to retrieve product and nutrient information. Only the barcode number is sent — no personal information, photos, or identifiers about you are included in this request. Please refer to Open Food Facts’ own privacy policy for how they handle that request.
In-App Purchases
NutrientRadar Premium is a one-time in-app purchase processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. We do not receive or store your payment information, card details, or Apple ID — Apple handles the entire transaction and simply informs the App whether you own the Premium unlock.
Notifications
If you enable the optional daily reminder, it is scheduled locally on your device using Apple’s notification system. No reminder data, schedule, or content is sent to any server — this feature works entirely offline.
Sharing Daily Stacks and Protocols
Premium users can export a Daily Stack or Personal Protocol as a file (.dailystack or .nutrientradar) to share with others via AirDrop, Messages, Mail, or similar. This sharing is entirely user-initiated — the App does not automatically upload or transmit this data anywhere. You control exactly who receives it, if anyone.
Children’s privacy
NutrientRadar is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the App does not collect personal data from any user in the first place, this is straightforward: nothing is being collected from anyone, regardless of age.
Your choices and control over your data
Because all data lives locally on your device, you are always in full control of it:
- You can delete any supplement, log entry, or protocol at any time within the App
- You can revoke camera, photo library, or notification permissions at any time in iOS Settings
- Deleting the App permanently removes all locally stored data
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes — for example, if a future version of the App adds a new feature that involves data leaving your device — we will update this page and revise the effective date above. We encourage you to check back periodically.
